2. What Information We Collect

When you participate in our research survey, we collect:

• Identity information: Your full name and job title
• Company information: Company name, type, size, and state of operation
• Contact information: Email address and phone number
• Survey responses: Your answers during the AI-powered research conversation
• Technical data: IP address (for security and fraud prevention only), browser type

We do not collect: payment information, passwords, government ID numbers, or sensitive personal data as defined under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

• Consent: By completing the registration and verification steps, you consent to participation in this research survey
• Legitimate interest: To conduct genuine industry research that benefits the Nigerian real estate sector
• Legal compliance: We may retain records as required by applicable Nigerian law

4. How We Use Your Information

• To conduct the research survey and generate anonymised industry insights
• To contact you about survey completion if you drop off mid-way (resume link)
• To notify you about research findings or pilot programmes, if you opted in
• To detect and prevent duplicate or fraudulent submissions
• To improve the platform and survey experience

We do not use your information for: advertising, profiling, automated decision-making with legal effects, or any purpose not stated above.

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

• Hosting provider: Our server stores your data in an encrypted MySQL database.
• Law enforcement: Only if required by a valid court order under Nigerian law

6. Data Retention

• Survey data is retained for a maximum of 3 years from the date of collection, or until the research project concludes
• Email verification codes are deleted within 10 minutes of use
• You can request deletion at any time (see Section 8)

7. Security

We protect your data using:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Bcrypt password hashing for admin credentials
• PDO prepared statements preventing SQL injection
• Restricted admin access with session authentication and brute-force lockout
• Server-side rate limiting to prevent automated abuse

8. Your Rights (Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023)

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for specific purposes
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent: At any time, without affecting lawfulness of prior processing

9. Cookies

We use only one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in during your survey session. It is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will post a notice on this page with the updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
